Cellar West is an award-winning, small-batch brewery founded by Zach Nichols in late 2016. We opened our small business with a love for brewing and a commitment to making Boulder County a better place to live. We're known for handcrafted & world-class beer, honest to goodness folks with story to tell, and our friendly & laid-back space perfect for enjoying a great ale or lager.

What began with a small lineup of oak aged, wild Farmhouse Ales has matured into a catalogue including clean, rustic lagers, timeless American pale ales & IPA, and the occasional British inspired pub ale - each award winning & distinct in their own right. We draw influence from beermakers before us, and inspiration from the raw materials around us. Cellar West Artisan Ales Opens in Lafayette

I started with a very small space to keep our overhead low and allow us to see how the world would respond to our beers, Nichols explained. He hunted for nearly a year, examining over fifty properties in Boulder before discovering the ideal location in Lafayette, a former Denver Post storage facility. The brewery specializes in farmhouse ales.

Colorado breweries score 21 awards at World Beer Cup

Fun fact: Seven Colorado breweries were first-time winners — Prost, Cerveceria Colorado, Old 121, Banded Oak, Bent Barley, The Post and Cellar West, which took home a silver for its Farmhouse Saison.

Props to Lafayette's very own Zach Nichols and Cellar West for the big win!
