Partnerships between chefs, founders and farmers support Colorado agriculture

The effort finds its foundation in the Colorado Grain Chain. Bouvier was one of the founding members of the organization, which started about the same time as she was launching Pastaficio. Jones Farms Organics, which is the first business in Colorado to receive Regenerative Organic Certification (ROC), also was an early member.

Today, Grain Chain members include 16 bakeries, 13 farms, 16 breweries and distilleries, and eight restaurants. As the organization grows—with increasingly more farmers cultivating organic and regenerative grains and food businesses sourcing grains from local farmers—it has become a powerful movement.

Jones Farms Organics: Sustainability leads at Hooper’s fourth-generation potato farm

Sarah’s experience in sales and marketing has helped the Joneses diversify their business model, allowing them to collaborate with local farmers and ranchers in ways that benefit everyone, while simultaneously protecting the local ecosystem. “The key is biodiversity, whether it’s our gut health and diet, our soil, our friends, or customers,” Sarah explains. In addition to growing over 20 varieties of potatoes, the Joneses also grow seven varieties of heirloom grains

Curator's Notes
Added record to database and published to site. Learner about Jones Farms Organics from a Instagram post by Dry Storage that referred to Michael and Sarah Jones of Jones Farms as having sourced and harvested their Rouge De Bordeaux. It looks like they may sell wholesale, but I am not sure if that is through Dry Storage or not.
